(Impatiens walleriana) Low, compact bush. Blooms profusely throughout the summer. Plant height is 15-20cm. Impatiens – can be grown both in flower beds, in flower pots and balcony boxes, and in rooms as indoor plants. Balsam seeds for growing as seedlings are sown from mid-February to mid-March. Impatiens seeds germinate in the light, so they do not need to be covered with soil. The temperature required for seed germination is +20…+22°C. Then, when the balsams germinate, the temperature is reduced and during the growth of the seedlings the temperature is maintained at +18…+20°C. At a lower temperature, stress begins for the balsam plant – the growth of the balsam plant stops. When growing seedlings, balsam is hilled up – then the balsam will grow thicker and the balsam bushes will be more compact. Impatiens will really like organic fertilizer in the planting hole – this could be, for example, chicken pellets, cattle pellets or horse manure. The result will be lush balsam bushes with dark green glossy leaves.
