(Campanula patula) Perennial plant with bell-shaped inflorescences, 40 cm tall. The stem is slender and branched. Lower leaves are oblong-obovate or lobed, middle and upper leaves are lanceolate or linear-lanceolate. Flowers are large (up to 3 cm), on long pedicels, collected in a loose, paniculate inflorescence. The calyx teeth are mostly strongly deviated, spreading. The corolla is blue-violet (rarely white) with dark veins, its lobes are large, somewhat bent. Fruits are bolls, sitting on straight stalks and opening with holes at the top. Flowering from early summer to fall. Grows on fresh, mineral-rich soils: on meadows, pastures, glades, edges of light forests.
