(Pelargunium x zonale) Pelargonium (geranium) is a very popular annual. This unique series of varieties is characterized by early flowering and a compact bush that grows to about 20-25 cm. The dark brown leaves with a green border along the edge create an attractive decorative effect. Sturdy pedicels are topped with large caps of inflorescences that reach 10-12 cm in diameter. These varieties look great in various garden compositions, especially in combination with green-leaved plants. They will look particularly effective in light-colored flower pots, and in flower beds they can be surrounded by plants of contrasting colors, such as cineraria maritime and white alyssum.
