(Millium effusum) Perennial 40-80 cm tall, with short creeping rhizomes. Stems are erect. Leaf blades 0.5-1.5 cm wide, flat. Panicles widely spreading, 12-30 cm long; spikelets 0.2-0.3 cm long. Blooms in late spring-early summer. Bright golden-yellow leaves. Decorative with broad bright green leaves from April until frost, but especially during flowering. The plant is cold-tolerant, grows in shade and penumbra. It grows well on loose fertile soils. Propagated by division of the bush. Used for plantings in combination with beautifully flowering perennials.
