(Begonia semperflorens) Plant height 20 cm. Small but double flowers. An easy-to-grow variety that flowers well in both full sun and shade, with flowers above the foliage.
Begonias bloom profusely until frost. Grows well in dry soil, likes sunny places. Seeds are sown on the soil surface, covered with glass or film and placed in a warm, bright place at a temperature of +22…+24 °C (temperature affects the germination rate). Sprouts appear in 18-22 days. During the dark hours of the day, they need additional lighting so that the seedlings do not overheat. The sprouted plants are very small, so they are transplanted several times. When the seedlings form their first two leaves, they are pricked out, placing them 2 cm apart. Later, they are thinned out again, first placing the plants in a box 5 cm apart, then 10 cm apart. Begonias are planted in beds, pots, and balcony boxes.
