Annual clover is an ornamental, fodder, medicinal, siderate and honey-bearing plant. The plant is low and non-branched. Plant height: 20-50 cm. Leaves are triangular with a long petiole, hairy leaflets, with a truncated apex. Blooms during spring and summer. Flowers are deep red, collected in an elongated head.
Incarnate clover is widely grown as fodder for cattle and other domestic animals, used as a green fertilizer-siderate. It is also good as an ornamental plant. It is a valuable mellifer: its honey is of very high quality.
Culture wintering, but poorly resistant. It is sown without cover (better in the fall). It can be sown in a mixture with winter vetch. It does not tolerate damp, acidic soils. Sowings are mowed at the beginning of flowering, because later the forage quickly coarsens. The use of grass is single-cut, because after mowing it does not grow again. Clover is also used in ornamental gardening. It is excellent for landscaping large lawns, perimeter circles, and is also included in a variety of lawn mixtures.
