(Saponaria ocymoides) A winter-hardy perennial. Plant height up to 30 cm. Flower diameter up to 1 cm. Low-growing, carpet-like, fast-growing and abundantly flowering perennial. The plant is sun-loving, drought-tolerant and winter-hardy. Flowers are numerous, small, tubular, with a flat bend, collected in loose inflorescences. Recommended for decorating terraces, walls and is an excellent decoration for alpinarium, giving it a special colorful.
Sowing in March under glass for seedlings, or in May-June on seedbeds in the open ground. Planted permanently in the fall, when the plant reaches 4-5 cm. Soil is undemanding, but prefers non-acidic loams with good drainage.
Care: does not require careful care. After flowering, the stems are cut off.
Flowering: May – August.
