(Phaseolus vulgaris L) This elegant, high-yielding, delicious wax bean variety is a distinct improvement on the older, yellow-bladed climbing varieties. Pods are round, fleshy, bright yellow, grow up to 20-21 cm, but can already be harvested when they reach a length of 18 cm. Monte Gusto beans are among the earliest varieties of beans (60 days). The shoots of this variety can reach 2.5 m in length. Advantages – high productivity and resistance to the bean mosaic virus. The Monte Gusto variety is consumed fresh, but the pods can also be stored or frozen. The variety needs support.
Bean seeds are sown directly on the field from May to July. Pole varieties are sown 2 – 3 seeds per hole at a distance of 50 cm from each other. The pods are harvested as they mature from July to September. Beans should be grown in sunny and wind-sheltered areas. The soil needs to be weeded and loosened. You will do best in moderately moist, humus-rich soil.
