(Lythrum salicaria) A great plant for shady places! A shrub for gardens with moist soil. Loved by bees and butterflies. Straight, austere bush 80-120 cm high. Leaf lanceolate, green, red in the fall. Flowers are gathered in dense candle-shaped spikes, purple-red, star-shaped, small, up to 1 cm in diameter. Blooms in June-August. It is an excellent mellifer. The fruit is an oblong-oval boll. The plant is winter-hardy.
