(Cucumis melo L.) Medium early variety. Forms oblong-rounded fruits with slightly rough skin. Fruit weight ~2-3 kg. The flesh is yellow, firm, very sweet. “Piel de Sapo” means “toad skin” in Spanish. Piel de Sapo melons are a type of honey melon that gets its name from its rough and uneven skin. Like all honey varieties, Piel de Sapo continues to ripen after harvest. In areas of unstable agriculture, it is recommended to grow under film cover or in greenhouses on trellises. The stems are pinched after 5-6 leaves, 3-5 fruits are left on the plant. Watering is stopped 10-15 days before ripening.
